Tornado-prompted redesign impressive at Club Axis
By Julie Sulunga
The tornado tore off the roof and destroyed some of the equipment.
Along with the reopening, clubgoers are in for a few added treats. A big addition is the 30-foot disco ball that had to be installed through the ceiling because it was too large to fit through any of the doors.
Some of the additions include an all-new sound system, a light show, extra restrooms, a VIP lounge and a second dance floor.
"If you don't like what's happening on the 21-and-over dance floor," said general manager Cary Stringfellow, "you can circulate to the 18-and-over dance floor."
One of the major appeals is the creative team that is involved with the whole idea process of the club. The ladies night is not just a night where the women get in for inexpensive rates, they also get made over. These makeovers are quite original because the top stylists are there to make the women look and feel great for one night.
There are even dating games where the winners of the game get to take a small airplane ride over the city. They only get to do this if they win the particular dating game, however.
This is no new project for the creative team of Club Axis, as they have been working together for over 15 years. They have opened up one club together, the club called Vortex. The club was also located in Salt Lake City. Because of this they have been able to learn from their experience and gain insight that has helped them to make Club Axis all the more successful.
